The Elder Scrolls 6 New Update finally gives fans something real to talk about. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has now watched the game being played live at Bethesda, and she liked what she saw.
Sharma recently visited Bethesda Game Studios and got a look at The Elder Scrolls 6 in action. She praised the scale of the game and said the story impressed her even more.
That may sound like a small update, but it matters.
Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls 6 back in 2018. Since then, fans have seen almost nothing. There is still no release date, gameplay trailer, or official subtitle.
Now we at least know there is a working build that Xbox leadership can watch in action.
The Elder Scrolls 6 Is Clearly Further Along
Sharma did not say which part of the game she saw.
She also gave no details about combat, locations, or the story. So fans should not expect a public reveal right away.
Still, this is another strong sign of progress.
Bethesda recently said the team plays the game every day and likes how it is coming together. That tells us the project has moved well beyond the very early stage.
The game now exists in a form that people inside Bethesda and Xbox can regularly test.
That is a big change from the years when fans had little more than the original teaser.
The Elder Scrolls 6 still has a lot to prove. Skyrim set a huge standard for exploration and replay value, so Bethesda needs the new game to feel much bigger than just another open-world RPG.
Sharma’s comments suggest the studio is aiming high.
Bethesda Is Also Still Working on Oblivion
While Bethesda builds The Elder Scrolls 6, it is also still improving Oblivion Remastered.
The studio has been working on extra optimization for the Nintendo Switch 2 version. Some of those improvements may also help the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions.
That matters because players have reported performance problems since launch.
It also creates an interesting moment for the series.
Bethesda is fixing one of its classic Elder Scrolls games while building the next major entry at the same time.
The wait for The Elder Scrolls 6 is not over yet.
But fans now know the team plays it every day, Xbox leadership has seen it running, and the people who have watched it are already praising its scale and story.
After years of silence, that finally feels like real progress.
