The GTA 6 Reenlistment Reward might be one of the strangest examples yet of how much attention Rockstar’s next game is getting. A US Army battalion at Fort Stewart, Georgia, is reportedly offering soldiers a four-day pass around the launch of GTA 6 if they reenlist.
The time off would run from November 20 to November 23, while GTA 6 launches on November 19. That means soldiers who qualify could potentially spend most of the launch weekend playing the game.
It sounds like something made for a meme, but the offer reportedly comes from a real reenlistment flyer connected to the 9th Engineer Battalion.
GTA 6 Is Being Used as a Reenlistment Perk
The offer does not mean every soldier in the US Army is getting four days off for GTA 6. It appears to be a local incentive offered by one battalion, and soldiers would still need to reenlist and get the leave approved through the normal process.
The timing is still hard to miss. The four-day pass starts immediately after GTA 6 launches, which makes the game part of the appeal.
That is what makes the story so unusual. GTA 6 is no longer just a big game people are waiting to buy. It is something people are planning time around months before release.
For younger soldiers who already follow games, a long weekend around launch could be a genuinely attractive extra perk. It also shows how much GTA 6 has moved beyond normal gaming hype and into wider culture.
GTA 6 Fans Are Already Spending Big
The Army story is not the only sign of how strong demand is.
Early preorder data from Sensor Tower reportedly shows that around 89% of GTA 6 preorders are for the $99.99 Ultimate Edition, while the Standard Edition costs $79.99.
That means many of the earliest buyers are choosing the more expensive version instead of saving the extra $20.
The Ultimate Edition includes extra in-game content, including vehicles, weapons and other bonuses. Early buyers are also likely to be some of the biggest GTA fans, so the percentage may change as more casual players start ordering closer to release.
Even so, the number is impressive.
You now have soldiers reportedly being offered launch-weekend time off as a reenlistment perk, while many early buyers are already spending close to $100 on the game.
That is a very unusual level of interest for a game that is still months away.
GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. If the hype is already this strong now, launch week could be on a completely different level.
