Marvel’s Wolverine Platinum Looks Surprisingly Friendly Except for One Challenging Trophy

The Marvel’s Wolverine Trophy List is finally here, and Insomniac has given trophy hunters an early look without ruining the story. The PS5 game has 42 trophies in total, covering the main campaign, upgrades, collectibles, combat challenges and some very strange activities around Logan’s journey.

The good news is that the Platinum looks fairly friendly on paper. There is no listed requirement to finish the game on a specific difficulty or complete New Game Plus, although some trophies could still take plenty of time.

You Will Need to Finish the Story and Build Logan Up

The Platinum is called “I’m The Best There Is…”, and the requirement is exactly what players would expect: unlock every other trophy.

One of the four Gold trophies asks players to complete the main story. Another requires enough crafted suits to fully upgrade Logan’s health, while Secondary Mutations asks players to reach Adaptation Level 10. Players will also need to reach Player Level 36 for Ultimate Predatory.

That gives us a useful idea of what a Platinum run will involve. Simply rushing through the story probably will not be enough. Players will need to spend time improving Logan, crafting suits and using the progression systems Insomniac has been showing before launch. The trophy list also includes reaching Rage Tier 3, which ties directly into Wolverine’s three-stage Rage system.

Collectible Hunters Have Plenty of Work Ahead

Anyone hoping Wolverine would avoid collectibles is out of luck. Crate Collector requires every Material Crate, while Full Barrel asks players to collect every Whisky Bottle. There is also a smaller trophy for finding the first whisky bottle.

Nightmare Doors matter too. Players need to discover all Nightmare Doors for one trophy, while other challenges involve completing Nightmare Trials and reaching the highest Adamantium rank on at least one of them.

Insomniac has already explained that Nightmare Doors lead to special combat and traversal challenges, so they appear to be one of the bigger side activities tied to the Platinum.

The list does not currently suggest that players need to complete the game on its hardest setting, which should make the Platinum more approachable for people who mainly care about exploration and completion.

One Trophy Wants You to Parry 500 Times

Then we get to the combat trophies. Parry Perfected asks players to successfully parry 500 times. That is easily one of the numbers that stands out most. It may happen naturally during a full playthrough, especially for players who rely heavily on parrying, but anyone who prefers dodging may need to change their habits if they want Platinum.

Another trophy, Spiral Cut, requires 75 kills using Tornado Spin, one of Logan’s rechargeable Special Techniques. Players also need to perform stealth kills on enemies blinded by Jean, impale an enemy on an environmental hazard and complete other combat-specific actions.

These trophies should encourage players to use more than basic claw attacks instead of finding one comfortable combo and sticking with it for the entire game.

Some Trophies Are Just Weird, and That Is Probably a Good Thing

Not everything sounds like serious Wolverine business. One trophy called That’s Cheating asks Logan to free stuffed animals from a claw machine. Another, Poseidon’s Kiss, involves activating a very unusual toilet inside a Tokyo bar bathroom. There is also Ground Control, which asks players to push three enemies out of a plane.

These smaller trophies may end up being some of the most memorable because they reward players for experimenting with the world instead of only finishing missions.

The list also hints at environmental interactions and optional moments players could easily walk past if they only follow the main objective.

The Platinum Looks Friendly, but Probably Not Short

On paper, Marvel’s Wolverine does not look like one of those Platinum trophies designed to punish players. There is no obvious hardest-difficulty trophy and no requirement in the current list to finish New Game Plus. Most of the work comes from completing the story, finding collectibles, upgrading Logan and using different combat mechanics. That does not mean it will be quick.

Finding every Whisky Bottle, Material Crate and Nightmare Door could take time, and 500 parries may become a grind depending on how often players naturally use the mechanic.

Still, the trophy list feels similar to the kind of completion-focused Platinum Insomniac has offered in its Spider-Man games. Players who explore properly and experiment with Logan’s abilities should make steady progress without needing to play the entire game in one very specific way. And for everyone already planning to earn that Platinum on launch week, there is one obvious piece of preparation. Start practicing those parries.
