Some Marvel Tokon DLC Fighters may have been found early in the game files, and the list includes some very big Marvel names.
The leaked names include Gambit, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Wasp, Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and The Thing.
Nothing has been confirmed by Arc System Works yet, so these names should be treated as possible future characters, not a final DLC list.
Still, it is a very interesting leak.
The Fantastic Four Make a Lot of Sense
The Fantastic Four stand out straight away.
Marvel Tokon is built around four-person teams, so adding Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch and The Thing together would fit the game almost perfectly.
They would also play very differently from each other.
Mister Fantastic could fight from longer range with stretching attacks. Invisible Woman could use shields and defensive moves. Human Torch would make sense as a fast aerial fighter, while The Thing would be the heavy hitter.
Gambit, Daredevil, Doctor Strange and Wasp would also add more variety to the roster.
But there is one important detail.
The Year 1 pass only includes four DLC fighters, and Phoenix Cyclops has already been announced as the first one.
That means only three Year 1 character slots are still open.
So even if all eight leaked names are real, they probably will not all arrive in the first year.
Some of them could be planned for later seasons, or they may simply be unused names left in the game files.
Marvel Tokon Still Has Work to Do on PC
The leak comes while the developers are still fixing the PC version.
Marvel Tokon launched with complaints about stuttering, high CPU usage and performance drops.
A recent update has improved things for many players. The patch focused on CPU problems and other PC performance issues.
That is important because a fighting game needs to run smoothly, especially during online matches.
Arc System Works has already made it clear that Marvel Tokon will keep getting new characters, stages and updates after launch.
That makes this leak easier to believe, even if the exact list is still not confirmed.
The biggest question now is which three characters will join Phoenix Cyclops in the Year 1 pass.
If the leak is real, Arc System Works has plenty of strong choices.
