A Pokemon trainer collects creatures. Jurassic World Evolution 3 asks you to house them instead, and that single word covers an enormous amount of work. A dinosaur is not a card in a binder. It is a tenant with opinions about space, neighbours and scenery, and it will leave if you ignore them.

So the collecting instinct is exactly the habit to unlearn first.
How Jurassic World Evolution 3 hands you a creature
There is no wild encounter and no throwing anything. You send scientists on expeditions, they return with fossils, and your lab extracts DNA from them. Only then can a Hatchery synthesise an egg, staffed by scientists who are good enough for the job.
Breeding is genuinely new to the series as well. Place suitable Nests inside a territory holding both males and females, and the animals will raise juveniles themselves. Traits and genetic modifications then shape how each individual looks and behaves. Frontier’s own player guide covers the process step by step.

Comfort is the stat that actually rules the park
Every animal carries a Comfort Rating, and two groups of needs feed it. Environmental needs cover the territory itself, including the percentage split of pasture, water and barren ground each species wants. Social needs cover the company, including the adult population, the mix of males and females, and irritation from sharing with other species.
Each species also has a minimum and a maximum population it tolerates. Fall outside that band and comfort slides steadily rather than instantly. More animals in one territory means more space required too, so a pen that worked yesterday can fail after a single hatch. Unhappy dinosaurs try to escape, and an escaped predator becomes a guest problem very quickly.
What transfers from Pokemon, and what does not
Type matching does carry over in spirit. Reading a species sheet before you commit is the same discipline as checking a matchup, and cohabitation charts reward that reading heavily. Long-term planning transfers too.
The rest does not. There is no healing centre that resets everything for free, no storage box holding infinite spares, and no reason to own one of everything. A park full of half-satisfied species scores worse than a smaller park where every territory genuinely fits its residents. Jurassic World Evolution 3 rewards depth over breadth, which is the exact opposite of catching them all. You can find the game on its Steam store page.

Frequently asked questions
Can I keep every species together? No. Cohabitation causes discomfort for many pairings, so check the species sheet before mixing them.
What happens if comfort drops? The animal grows restless and may attempt an escape, which then endangers your guests.
How do I get new dinosaurs? Send scientists on expeditions for fossils, extract the DNA, then synthesise the egg in a Hatchery.
