The Marvel Tokon PC Performance Issues have already become one of the biggest complaints around the game’s launch, but players may have found a very strange workaround: keeping the Epic Games Launcher running in the background.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has had a rough start on PC, with players reporting frame drops, stuttering and unusually high CPU usage. The game has also struggled to hold a strong Steam rating despite plenty of interest around its launch.
What makes the latest discovery so odd is that the game is not even sold through the Epic Games Store.
Some players say simply installing Epic Games Launcher and leaving it open while playing has improved performance, including startup stutter and unstable frame rates.
That is not an official fix, and it will not work for everyone, but enough players have reported improvements that it has quickly become one of the stranger launch-day tips being shared around the community.
Marvel Tokon Still Has Real PC Problems
The Epic Games Launcher trick does not change the fact that the PC version has several confirmed issues.
The developers have already acknowledged unusually high CPU usage during startup, with some systems briefly reaching close to full CPU load before the title screen appears.
Players have also reported micro-stutters and frame drops during matches, which become much more noticeable in a fighting game where smooth performance matters for timing and reactions.
There are other problems too.
Linux and Steam Deck users have run into trouble because of the game’s anti-cheat setup, while players in countries without PlayStation Network support have also criticized the required PSN login.
The developers are investigating the performance issues, but there is no single official patch that fixes everything yet.

One popular community report claimed performance became noticeably better after Epic Games Launcher was left running in the background. Other players tried the same thing and reported mixed results, with some seeing smoother gameplay while others noticed only a small difference.

There is also no official explanation yet for why Epic Games Launcher would affect performance at all.
