The GTA 6 Driveable Vehicles we have seen so far already look impressive. Rockstar has shown cars, bikes, helicopters, planes, boats, police vehicles and even airboats.
That variety makes sense because Leonida is much bigger than Vice City alone. The map includes swamps, beaches, islands, highways and smaller towns. Players will probably need different vehicles depending on where they are going.
Rockstar has still not shown us how driving actually feels. That could change on August 27 when GTA 6 gets its Extended Look.
GTA 6 Already Has a Huge Mix of Vehicles
A lot of familiar cars are coming back. The 8F Drafter, Astron, Asterope GZ, Sultan, Tailgater and Tempesta are among the vehicles already spotted.
Motorcycles are also returning. Bikes like the Sanchez and Manchez should be useful once players leave the main roads and head into rougher areas.
Rockstar is not stopping with cars and bikes. Helicopters like the Buzzard and Maverick have appeared, along with police helicopters and other aircraft.
Planes are also part of the mix. Players have spotted jets, smaller aircraft and older propeller planes in the footage.
Water travel could be much more important this time.
Leonida has a large coastline, lakes and swamp areas. That means boats may be useful more often than they were in GTA 5.
The airboat is one of the most interesting new additions. It fits perfectly with the swampy parts of Leonida and should make those areas easier to explore.
There are also plenty of normal vehicles. Buses, vans, campers, garbage trucks, forklifts and off-road vehicles have all appeared.
That is important because GTA has always been fun when players can steal almost anything and use it as a getaway vehicle.
The Extended Look Could Finally Show How Driving Feels
The number of vehicles is not the biggest question.
The real question is how they handle.
Rockstar has shown cars racing through Vice City and boats moving across the water, but we still have not seen a proper driving demonstration.
The August 27 Extended Look could finally give us that.
Fans still argue about GTA 4 and GTA 5 driving. GTA 4 made cars feel heavier, while GTA 5 made them faster and easier to control.
GTA 6 could sit somewhere between the two.
Leonida also gives Rockstar a good reason to make vehicle choice more important.
A sports car may be perfect for highways, but it will not be much use in a swamp. Dirt bikes, ATVs, helicopters and airboats could be much better in those areas.
That would make the world feel more varied.
Police Chases Could Make Vehicle Choice Matter More
Police vehicles could also play a bigger role this time.
Rockstar has already shown police cars, SUVs, helicopters and riot vehicles. If the police AI has improved too, escaping a chase could depend on more than just grabbing the fastest car.
The location may matter.
A quick car could work well in the city. A dirt bike could be better off-road. A boat or airboat could help players escape through water.
That could make chases feel less predictable.
Rockstar has not explained the police system in detail yet, so the Extended Look could be the first proper chance to see how it works.
Rockstar May Still Be Keeping Bigger Surprises for Later
There are also things we may not see on August 27.
GTA Online is still one of the biggest unanswered questions around the game. Rockstar may keep the Extended Look focused on Jason, Lucia and the single-player world.
The company may also save other major features for later trailers.
That would make sense.
Rockstar has already shown enough to prove that GTA 6 will have a huge range of vehicles. Now fans want to know how those vehicles actually change the way the game plays.
If the Extended Look puts Jason or Lucia behind the wheel and gives us real gameplay, we should finally get a better answer.
GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
