The GTA 6 Gameplay Reveal is finally here, and Rockstar has now shown what players have waited years to see. The new Extended Look gives us police chases, gunfights, robberies, nightlife and a much deeper look at Jason and Lucia moving through Vice City.

Netflix released the 26-minute presentation first, and it immediately feels very different from the short trailers Rockstar has shown before. This time we actually see parts of GTA 6 being played, complete with driving, shooting and open-world activities across Leonida.

GTA 6 Finally Shows What Playing the Game Looks Like

One of the biggest moments comes during a police chase through Vice City. Cars fill the road while police vehicles chase the player through busy streets, giving us our clearest official look yet at how driving and wanted situations work in GTA 6. The chase quickly gets violent. The footage shows shooting during the pursuit, cars crashing and police vehicles losing control as the action moves through the city.

This is the kind of GTA 6 footage fans have wanted for years. Rockstar already showed beautiful beaches, clubs and city streets in earlier trailers, but seeing those same areas during actual action makes the world feel very different.

The Extended Look also gives us a better look at gunfights. Jason and Lucia use cover while bullets break glass and tear through objects around them, making some fights look much more physical than GTA 5.

One office shootout becomes especially chaotic. Glass flies across the room, furniture moves during the fight and enemies attack from different directions while the player moves between cover.

There also appears to be a slow-motion aiming system during combat. Rockstar has not explained exactly how it works yet, but the footage suggests players may have more control over where and how they target enemies.

The reveal does not stay focused on fighting for long. Rockstar moves quickly between different parts of Leonida and shows just how much players may be able to do away from the main story.

Jason and Lucia rob jewelry stores, race dirt bikes and jump from an aircraft over the city. Other scenes show nightlife, social media, driving and smaller moments between the two main characters. Vice City also looks enormous.

Several wide shots show highways, tall buildings, beaches and neighborhoods stretching far into the distance. Rockstar has talked about Leonida as its biggest and most detailed world yet, and the new footage finally gives that claim some scale.

The city does not only look big. It looks busy.

Cars fill the roads, NPCs move through different areas and clubs stay packed at night. Rockstar also shows quieter moments inside apartments and other buildings, helping the world feel like more than a collection of streets between missions.

Players can even watch television again. One scene shows a TV running inside Jason and Lucia’s apartment, complete with the kind of strange ads and jokes Rockstar has used throughout previous GTA games.

The phone also appears to play a big role. Lucia uses it to contact Jason during one mission, while the wider game includes the social media culture Rockstar has already shown in its trailers. All these smaller systems start to explain why Rockstar has spent so much time building GTA 6.

It is not simply making a bigger Los Santos. The studio seems to be filling Leonida with more things to do, more people to meet and more ways for the world to react around Jason and Lucia.

Jason and Lucia May Be GTA 6’s Biggest Change

The gameplay looks impressive, but the relationship between Jason and Lucia may become the part that really separates GTA 6 from older games. Rockstar keeps both characters at the center of the Extended Look. They live together, argue, joke while driving and work together during crimes. That changes the feeling of the story.

GTA 5 gave players three main characters, but Michael, Franklin and Trevor often followed their own lives before coming together for jobs. GTA 6 appears to build much more of its story around two people who depend on each other from the beginning.

The Extended Look shows them planning crimes together and dealing with the problems that follow. Lucia also looks like an active part of the action rather than someone who simply follows Jason through the story.

We also get another look at characters around them, including Brian and Raul Bautista. Rockstar moves between criminals, clubs, expensive offices and rougher areas of Vice City, suggesting Jason and Lucia will slowly move deeper into the city’s criminal world.

The result feels more personal than GTA 5. There are still huge explosions, ridiculous characters and classic GTA jokes, but Rockstar appears to be using Jason and Lucia’s relationship to hold everything together. That could matter more than any new mechanic.

Players will spend dozens of hours driving through Leonida, but the story needs a reason to keep them interested when the explosions stop. Rockstar seems to believe Jason and Lucia can provide that reason.

The presentation also arrives at the perfect moment for Rockstar. The past week brought a flood of unofficial GTA 6 footage online. Those clips showed unfinished builds, bugs and systems Rockstar never planned to reveal in that form.

Now we finally have something much more useful to judge. Netflix says the Extended Look uses footage captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5. Rockstar has not said that every second represents raw player-controlled gameplay, and much of the presentation clearly uses edited cinematic scenes, but this is still our best official look at GTA 6 running so far.

That difference matters. The leaked clips showed what GTA 6 looked like during development. The Extended Look shows what Rockstar wants people to expect when the game arrives this November.

And based on what Rockstar has shown, GTA 6 is trying to do much more than make Vice City bigger. It wants the roads to feel busier, fights to feel more physical, interiors to feel more detailed and the world around Jason and Lucia to keep moving whether the player starts a mission or simply drives around.

After years of waiting, GTA 6 finally looks like a game rather than a collection of trailers and screenshots. And that may be the biggest reveal of all.
