A Tyr Return in God of War Laufey now looks more likely after the character’s Portuguese voice actor gave a very interesting answer when asked about the new game.
Diogo Morgado, who voices Tyr in the Portuguese version of God of War Ragnarök, was watching the Laufey reveal when someone asked if he would also appear in the new game.
He did not say yes.
But he did not say no either.
Instead, Morgado laughed and talked about how strict NDAs can be. He also joked that after the State of Play was over, he could explain just how hard it was to keep quiet.
That is far from an official announcement, but it definitely sounds like he knows more than he can say.
Tyr Would Actually Make Sense in Laufey
Tyr returning would fit the story better than it may seem at first.
God of War Laufey takes Faye into the Everywhen, a strange afterlife where gods from different mythologies can appear.
Santa Monica Studio has already shown that this game will go beyond Norse mythology. The reveal included gods and creatures from other cultures, so bringing Tyr into that world would not feel out of place.
Tyr also has a long history of travelling between different lands and learning about other gods.
That makes him one of the easiest characters to bring into a story built around multiple mythologies.
For now, Sony has not listed Tyr among the confirmed characters.
The confirmed cast includes Deborah Ann Woll as Faye, Jack Quaid as Phranque and Perlina Lau as Rue.
So fans should treat Morgado’s reaction as a hint, not confirmation.
Still, it is probably the strongest clue we have seen so far.
Deborah Ann Woll Already Had a Very PlayStation First Day
There is also a much stranger story from behind the scenes.
Deborah Ann Woll recently talked about her first day working on God of War Laufey, and Santa Monica Studio apparently gave her a very familiar weapon.
It was a golf club connected to The Last of Us Part 2.
Woll was asked to swing it during performance capture and smash an axe as part of her early work on the game.
Yes, that golf club.
The Last of Us fans will immediately know why it has such a reputation.
It is a funny crossover between two of PlayStation’s biggest series, especially when you consider that Woll was just starting work on a completely different kind of character.
Her version of Faye is also expected to play very differently from Kratos.
Santa Monica Studio says her combat is faster and more mobile, with much more movement between the ground and air.
God of War Laufey launches on February 16, 2027 for PS5.
Tyr has not been officially confirmed yet.
But after that NDA answer, fans will probably be watching every new trailer very closely.
