The Fortnite 99 Nights Roblox Crossover is bringing one of Roblox’s biggest games into Fortnite on August 20.
The game is 99 Nights in the Forest, a survival horror experience made by Grandma’s Favourite Games and released on Roblox.
So this is not a direct partnership between Epic Games and Roblox itself. Fortnite is working with the creators of a game that became massively popular on the Roblox platform.
That is still a pretty big deal.
99 Nights in the Forest has already been played billions of times on Roblox, and now its creepy Deer is making the jump into Fortnite.
99 Nights in the Forest Is Coming to Fortnite on August 20
Epic started teasing the crossover with a simple message about surviving the night.
That led to plenty of guesses from Fortnite players, but the answer turned out to be 99 Nights in the Forest.
A later teaser showed the Deer from the Roblox game standing inside Fortnite and confirmed August 20.
If you have never played 99 Nights in the Forest, the idea is easy to understand.
You and your friends are dropped into a forest where you need to collect food, weapons and other supplies. You also have to keep your campfire going while searching for missing children.
Nighttime is where things get dangerous.
The Deer hunts players who move too far away from the safety of the campfire, and surviving long enough is the main challenge.
The game has become huge on Roblox. Its official page currently shows more than 28 billion visits, which explains why Epic would want it inside Fortnite.
What Epic has not explained yet is exactly what the crossover will include.
The Deer is clearly involved, but we do not yet know whether it will be a Fortnite skin, part of an event, an Item Shop release or something else.
With August 20 getting closer, we should not have to wait much longer to find out.
Fortnite’s Override Season Is Looking Much Bigger Than One Roblox Crossover
The date matters because August 20 is also when Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, called Override, begins.
And 99 Nights in the Forest is only one part of what Epic appears to have planned.
Sonic the Hedgehog is already connected to the new season, and Fortnite has also been teasing other gaming-related surprises.
There was some confusion when artwork for Override leaked online.
The image looked unusual enough that some fans wondered whether it was fake or even made with AI.
That theory became much harder to believe after matching artwork appeared in official Sonic tie-in material.
In other words, the leaked image appears to be legitimate.
That gives us a better idea of what Epic is doing with Override.
Instead of building the season around one huge crossover, Fortnite seems to be bringing together games from completely different parts of the industry.
Sonic has been around for decades.
99 Nights in the Forest only launched in 2025, but it became one of the biggest games on Roblox almost immediately.
Putting them together in the same Fortnite season shows how much the idea of a “big gaming crossover” has changed.
A character no longer needs to come from Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox or another traditional publisher to get Fortnite’s attention.
If millions of people are playing a game, Epic is clearly watching.
That is what makes the 99 Nights crossover interesting beyond the Deer itself.
A Roblox game has become big enough to cross directly into Fortnite.
Now we just need to see what Epic actually does with it on August 20.
