FF7 Revelation gameplay will be shown at Gamescom Opening Night Live later this month.

Square Enix has confirmed a new look at the third and final game in the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy. The show starts on Tuesday, August 25, at 11am PT, 2pm ET, 7pm BST and 8pm CEST.

Game director Naoki Hamaguchi is also expected to appear. Square Enix has not said how long the segment will be or what it will show.

That means there is still room for surprises. The game had a big reveal at Summer Game Fest in June. Gamescom could now show how its new ideas work during normal play.

Revelation is due to launch in spring 2027. It follows Rebirth and Remake, which began this remake story.

What FF7 Revelation gameplay has shown

The June reveal confirmed Revelation as the official name of the trilogy’s final game. It also showed a much bigger world.

Cloud and the party can travel through that world in the Highwind. They can fly over the map, then jump out and use parachutes to reach different places.

This looks more involved than picking a place from a menu. Players may be able to explore the world from the air before choosing where to land.

Square Enix also revealed a new job system. It lets party members take on different roles in battle.

The system could change the combat from the first trailer. It gives familiar characters new ways to fight without removing what makes them feel different.

The FITS job system still needs an answer

One thing Gamescom could explain is the FITS system. FITS means Function Integrated Tactical Suitwear.

Hamaguchi has said every character will have four FITS outfits. Each outfit has a clear combat role.

The June footage showed Tifa using a magic-based class. That is very different from how she usually fights.

Four jobs for each character sounds like a smaller and easier system. Rebirth already had Materia, equipment, weapon abilities, synergy attacks and each character’s own skills.

There is still one important question. Square Enix has not said if every character gets the same four jobs. It has also not said if each party member gets their own jobs based on their usual abilities.

Gamescom would be a good place to show one character changing roles during a normal fight. That would make it easier to see how FITS changes abilities, movement and the way the party works together.

The first trailer had a lot to show. It gave us the Highwind, parachutes, new jobs and a spring 2027 release window very quickly.

A longer gameplay section could slow things down. It could show how players move between locations, how big the areas are and how the Highwind changes exploration.

Hamaguchi being there makes a guided demo possible. Still, Square Enix has only promised a new look at the game. The Gamescom announcement does not confirm anything more.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation already made its first big impression in June. Gamescom now has a chance to show what the game feels like when players are in control.
