Witcher 3 Remastered Players Can Barely Hear Geralt, but There’s a Weird Fix

Witcher 3 Remastered Players Can Barely Hear Geralt, but There’s a Weird Fix

CD Projekt Red released the Remastered version of Witcher 3 on September 29, 2026. This modernized version of the game comes with visual enhancements and gameplay tweaks for Witcher 3. The game also has a couple of issues—one of them is that Witcher 3 has quiet dialogue.

What happened?

When explaining the issue, many players mentioned that voices during the game become almost inaudible. They also noted that the issue started after CD Projekt Red released the Remastered version of Witcher 3.

When describing the problem, a player on Reddit said:

“I started playing The Witcher 3 again today on the PS5 after the remaster update, and is it just me, or is the dialogue extremely quiet and the background music way too loud?”

Another player on Steam said: “Voices randomly lose 90% volume and once it happens all you can do is restart the game because they won’t come back…”

Witcher 3 quiet dialogue bug

In another report, a player said he experiences a situation where a popping or clicking sound comes up when Geralt is walking fast or sprinting. As noted by the player, the sound is similar to what comes up when navigating the menus.

How to address the Witcher 3 quiet dialogue bug?

The good news is that there are a few player-suggested workarounds you can try to address the “Witcher 3 quiet dialogue” bug. Many players reported that in-game meditation effectively restores the dialogue. A player mentioned that he accidentally fixed the issue by meditating and it worked fine. The player said: “Weirdly enough I accidentally fixed it by meditating and it’s worked fine since. No idea if it’ll work for anyone else or if it’ll be a permanent fix.”

Many other players tested and confirmed that the workaround indeed worked for them. However, a few players reported that in-game meditation doesn’t work for them. If you fall under this category, another thing you can do is to restart the game. Restarting works for the “Witcher 3 quiet dialogue” bug, but doesn’t fully address the other popping or clicking sound issue.

You need to understand that neither of the two workarounds above is a permanent fix. At the time of writing this article, CD Projekt Red hasn’t yet acknowledged the issue. As such, there’s currently no official fix to address it. We’ll continue to monitor the team for any updates, and as soon as we hear from them, you’ll be the first to know about it.

Are you just planning to try the Remastered game for the first time? As a returning player, we recommend checking your skills first before returning to combat here.
