The Stellar Blade Switch 2 demo is now available for free, giving Nintendo players their first chance to test SHIFT UP’s action game at home before the Complete Edition arrives in November.
The demo appeared on the Nintendo eShop on September 20 during Tokyo Game Show 2026. It comes after attendees at TGS were already able to try the Switch 2 version, but this is the first time regular players can download the port and judge its combat, visuals and performance for themselves.
Switch 2 Players Can Finally Test the Port
That matters because Stellar Blade is a demanding game that originally launched on PS5 before coming to PC. SHIFT UP says the Switch 2 version has been optimized specifically for Nintendo’s hardware. The finished release will also support Joy-Con 2 motion controls during some activities, while the Complete Edition bundles the base game with previously released content.
The fourth costume in the Bayonetta collaboration has been revealed! 👀

That includes the NieR and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE collaborations. The free demo should give players a much better idea of how EVE’s fast combat translates to Nintendo’s hardware before spending money on the full version. SHIFT UP has not clearly confirmed whether progress from this particular Switch 2 demo will carry into the final game, so players should not assume that yet. The full game is currently listed for November 5 in North America and Europe, with regional Asian listings falling on November 6.
Bayonetta Is Joining EVE at Launch
The demo was not SHIFT UP’s only announcement. A new Bayonetta collaboration trailer has revealed all four free outfits coming to Stellar Blade. EVE will be able to wear Bayonetta, Nun, Jeanne and Black Tresses designs when the collaboration launches alongside the Switch 2 version.
Black Tresses is the newest reveal and stands out because it is not simply copied from an existing Bayonetta costume. Director Kim Hyung Tae created it as his own take on the character’s style. The collaboration will not be locked to Switch 2 either. SHIFT UP says the Bayonetta outfits will also be available as a free update for existing PS5 and PC players.
That makes September 20 a useful day for anyone still unsure about the Nintendo version. Players can now test the Switch 2 port themselves instead of relying only on trailers, while the Bayonetta crossover gives the Complete Edition another piece of new content for launch.
