Marvel Wolverine Combat is getting one final spotlight before Insomniac launches the game on PS5. A new PlayStation clip shows Logan using his combat abilities against enemies, giving players another quick look at the skill system and the aggressive fighting style Insomniac has built around his claws.
The footage makes one thing clear: Wolverine is not supposed to fight like Spider-Man. Logan gets close, takes punishment and hits back with claws, kicks, barrages and powerful special moves. His combat is built around keeping the pressure on instead of constantly staying out of danger.
Players can unlock different Techniques to expand Logan’s moveset. One example is Tornado Spin, which lets Wolverine turn himself into a spinning attack against nearby enemies. The game also includes Adaptations that can improve parts of his abilities and help players shape their preferred playstyle.
Upgrade and unleash Wolverine's special techniques to slash and claw with deadly precision.

That progression is one of the more interesting parts of the combat system. Instead of simply giving Logan more damage as the game continues, Insomniac is giving players different tools to experiment with. The latest footage shows just how much of that system will be available to players.
Lady Deathstrike Is Getting Attention for a Different Reason
While the combat footage is the main story, another recent Insomniac post has created an unexpected side discussion. The studio shared a short clip of Lady Deathstrike, and some viewers initially thought the character could be Psylocke. Insomniac’s post simply identified her as “Deathstrike,” making it clear which Marvel villain players were looking at.
Their character designs are so bad they had to clarify who this is 🤣 Embarassing https://t.co/NPz6AlqVgM

The confusion is understandable. This version of Deathstrike has a different visual style from some of her most familiar appearances, and the purple energy weapon seen in the footage can easily remind fans of Psylocke.
I'm all about having superheroes/supervillains that are full-grown adults, but there's something about the choice to make every single character look fifty that just feels weird.
Like, why does everyone in Wolverine look like they have a mortgage, three kids, and lower back… https://t.co/qYf0zauqvc

However, this is not the first time Insomniac has shown Deathstrike. The character has already appeared in earlier promotional material and is confirmed as one of the major enemies Wolverine will face.
I might be the problem here…
But I’ll happily drop £10 on the Deluxe upgrade Day 1. I need ALL the suits. pic.twitter.com/laZVs7Sj9r

Insomniac is also giving Deathstrike a meaningful place in its version of the Marvel universe. She leads The Hand, putting her directly into Wolverine’s conflict with the organization. That makes her more important than a quick cameo or a single boss encounter.
For now, though, the combat remains the biggest attraction. Insomniac has spent years building its own version of Wolverine, and the latest footage suggests Logan’s claws are only one part of a much deeper fighting system.
