Blizzard Entertainment released Forsaken Kingdom as the first new official campaign expansion for Warcraft 3 on September 12, 2026. The game includes a massive new campaign with about 30 hours of new single-player gameplay. It also features Potions, Healing Spray, Soul Lantern, life steal, Death Coil, and scrolls, which players can use to restore health and heal their units. However, a new report says users are complaining about a new Forsaken Kingdom healing bug.
The bug prevents many players from using these features to heal when playing on PC. If you currently experience this issue, the good news is that you can always address it with the workaround below.
The problem:
According to reports, it seems the issue is linked to the current map state during or after the Death Knight fight. Normally, active healing effects like Potions and Healing Spray help to restore healing and health. However, when the Forsaken Kingdom healing bug occurs, these features fail to restore health even when their activation effects appear.
When describing the issue, a Redditor on the r/warcraft3 thread said:
“When Garek takes a potion or gets healed by Healing Spray or Life Steal – the healing doesn’t happen. Anya can still be healed via potions and whatnot. Garek can’t. The healing is simply nulled as it seems”.
Another user on the Blizzard forum said:
“I’m on the quest “into the catacombs” and have discovered none of my abilities my heroes use to heal one another work anymore. Soul Lantern triggers and drains Anya of mana, but doesn’t restore any health.”
This simply means using a potion or healing spray activates but fails to work on Garek. These healing effects only work on Anya, and only in some cases. For some players, Soul Lantern goes as far as draining Anya. For Garek, the game only registers the healing actions but fails to show any effects when it comes to health restoration.
Understanding how to fix Warcraft 3 Forsaken Kingdom Healing Bug
As noted on the r/warcraft3 thread, there’s a workaround you can always try to fix the annoying Forsaken Kingdom healing bug. This involves leaving the affected area and traveling to a genuinely different map that displays a full loading screen.
Once you arrive at the new map, consider testing the available healing abilities, such as Healing Spray, Soul Lantern, and portions. If the bug has been addressed, you’ll notice immediate health restoration. Some affected Redditors, who already tested this workaround, noted that Tirisfal Glades, City Ruins, or City Outskirts can effectively restore healing. They also noted that moving anywhere below Lower City and Market Square doesn’t fix the Forsaken Kingdom healing bug.

For now, Blizzard hasn’t yet acknowledged this issue or provided any information regarding a permanent fix. We’ll continue to monitor them and as soon as they drop an official update regarding the issue, we’ll let you know about it.
