The GTA 6 Kaseya Center sign is finally making its way onto the Miami skyline. New footage from Miami on September 22 shows the first pieces of Rockstar’s huge “Welcome to Vice City” installation being lifted onto the roof of the Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat. The project has been visible around the arena for days, but the actual rooftop installation is now underway.
For GTA fans, it is a strange moment. The fictional Vice City was inspired by Miami, and now Rockstar is putting Vice City branding directly above one of the real city’s most recognizable arenas.
Rockstar Is Spending Nearly $1 Million on the Sign
The project is much bigger than a normal billboard. Miami-Dade officials confirmed last week that Rockstar is paying close to $1 million for the Kaseya Center deal. The county owns the arena, while the Miami Heat operates it through Basketball Properties.
Earlier planning documents showed that the structure was designed to be installed in large sections using helicopter lifts. Those plans are now becoming real, with footage showing pieces being moved onto the roof.

The finished sign is expected to read “Welcome to Vice City” alongside GTA 6 branding. Part of the money from the agreement is expected to support development of county-owned land behind the Kaseya Center.
The deal has also attracted criticism from some Miami-Dade commissioners, who questioned whether government-owned property should be connected to a series known for crime and violence. Others have argued that GTA 6 will be one of the biggest entertainment releases of the year and that Miami should benefit from the attention.
Vice City Is Starting to Appear in the Real Miami
What makes the Kaseya Center project interesting is how closely Rockstar is blending GTA 6 with the city that inspired it. This is only one part of a much wider Miami marketing push. Rockstar has also been linked to Vice City branding around beaches and other parts of the region ahead of launch.
But the arena sign is different because it will sit high above Downtown Miami and be visible from a huge distance. Plans for the project first surfaced earlier in September. Now, on September 22, fans can actually watch the fictional city being placed above the real one. With GTA 6 less than two months away, Rockstar’s marketing campaign is becoming much harder to miss.
